What this diagnostic measures
Rituals: the cadence that keeps a team running without heroics: forecast, 1:1s and pipeline review with clear criteria.
Data: whether decisions come from reliable numbers or from someone's memory.
Coaching: whether the manager develops the team or only chases results.
Psychological safety: whether bad news arrives in time to be fixed. It's the most underrated dimension. Harvard professor Amy Edmondson found in a hospital study that the best teams reported more errors, because they hid fewer. Years later, Google's Project Aristotle named psychological safety the number-one factor of high-performing teams.
